Between February and July 2024, Animal Equality’s investigators uncovered systemic abuse across pig farms, markets, and slaughter sites in four Indian states. Every location showed clear violations of animal protection laws. Pigs were beaten, tied up, stuffed into bags, and transported on rickshaws and scooters. Many were illegally slaughtered in unlicensed facilities, suffering slow and painful deaths.
