Our investigation in egg farms brings to light how hens are forced to live in their own excrement. We observed many hens were missing their feathers and had abrasions and irritations on the skin. This is probably due to the high concentrations of ammonia from their litter. The litter is collected in huge piles underneath the stacked cages and disposed of only once every few weeks. This lack of timely disposal leads to diseases and mortality among these birds. ~ #batterycages #eggfarms #eggindustrykills #eggindustry #chickenindustry #chickencruelty #chickenshavefeelingstoo #animalrightsactivist #animalcruelty #animalequalityindia
