The night before this photo was taken Jose and I ventured into a Spanish factory farm, accompanied by fellow activists and the Spanish press, their first time witnessing the hidden reality of hens forced to live a life of cruelty. We managed to rescue some of the hens you see in this photo, offering them a glimmer of hope in a world of darkness. Even in the most challenging circumstances, hope shines through.
